How HOT is this Spring Day Scene! There were butterflies flying around! Just delicious :-)
I absolutely loved the Naeem Khan & Ranjana Khan Collections! The dresses were Chic Chic Chic! The jewlery designed by Ranjana was breathtaking, romantic and whimsical. It was a exciting presentation that captured the sensual essence of a woman! Check out the gallery for more pics http://www.billshatto.com/danalee/20090917/ !

So, I didn't exactly get into the Alexander Wang show! EPIC FAIL! Such is life...you can't be everywhere right :-) Check below, to see the view that I had. It's a great photograph Bill! You have to be able to laugh at life, that's what its all about. But, I did meet Ms. Janelle Monae! She is a sweetheart and very beautiful!
Check out the video of the Alexander Wang Collection. His Spring Collection is a deconstruction of college wear. I like a couple of pieces and no its not because I was not actually seated at the show lol! These are the two that I like...the dress reminds me of the oversized sweatshirts we used to wear in college. It's SEXY SIMPLE!

Alice + Olivia designed by Stacy Bendet proved to be a breathe of fresh air with its Spring Collection. The pieces were SEXY CHIC and wearable! I especially love this look pictured to the left. The sequin top with the pencil bottom is all me! The dresses are soft and are great for a hot date!

Toni, Designer of Hayden-Harnett & The Fashionista
I had a chance to attend the Hayden-Harnett presentation entitled "Lava Fields of Love" with friend and designer Steven Cutting. Hayden-Harnett is a Brooklyn based business in Greenpoint. You know I love that! I was able to speak with Toni, the designer, pictured to the left. I asked her what her inspiration was for the colors and textures. She explained " My team and I looked at natural materials, modern nomads, lava fields and barren landscapes as the inspiration for the looks." I often have designers coming to me asking for assistance in finding investors or just wanting to know if it is feasible in this economic climate to start a line. So, from a designers point of view I asked what advice she would give new designers. She stated "That new designers should be true to their singular unique voices. People are still looking for the next new thing!" You hear that designers, don't give up!
It was a great presentation of the line with serenading by the Opera Company of Brooklyn. Who knew Brooklyn had an Opera Company! Overall, I loved the leather bags and jackets! The color scheme was beautiful, I see purple! My fav dress was the Blake Dress in Grenadine. HOT! Fashion's Night Out Sept. 10th 2009 NYC
Do you see me and my new bestie, Anna & Dana! I'm a mess, I know. That is the one and only Anna Wintour, Editor-In-Chief of Vogue Magazine and one of the organizers of the biggest shopping event ever! Picture taken by the best photog and friend Bill Shatto.
Fashion's Night Out was on September 10th, the commencing of the infamous Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This was a global initiative orchestrated, by American Vogue, CFDA & the City of New York, to celebrate the essence of fashion and restore consumer confidence in shopping again! Thirteen countries participated in this extravaganza.
The night proved to be more than what I expected. It was FAB! I ran all over the city, in order to get a glimpse of people shopping and enjoying the night's activities. There was star power everywhere, mixed with great cocktails, and exquisite clothing. What more could a Fashionista ask for!
Fashion's Night Out should be every week! Thanks Anna *wink*!

Keep It Sexy Simple
My Nail Polish Color pick for the Fall is Blue! This Dark Blue is sexy! But, let's Keep It Sexy Simple and pick up a bottle of Essie's Aruba Blue at $6. Chanel's is supa dupa chic but it does not fit into this Fashionista, Frugalista's budget...a lot of money! Lol!
